The Orchid Growers and PlantScout introduce assortment survey tool

During the Orchid Inspiration Days, The Orchid Growers, in collaboration with PlantScout, introduced a survey tool with which business (end) customers and consumers can assess test varieties. With this input, The Orchid Growers can gain valuable insights and tailor its range even better to the wishes of the customer.

“We are constantly working on product range development. For this we work together with leading breeders and we also do our own breeding', says Eduard ter Laak. "We only include the most beautiful and strongest varieties in our range. For example, we assess the plants on shelf life, but also on appearance characteristics such as flower color, height and number of branches."

"We do this assessment through our glasses and – if you ask us – too little from the perspective of the business (end) customer or consumer. While in the end they are the ones who buy the orchid. We already used PlantScout for our internal assessments. In order to better match our range with customer wishes, we have now developed this survey tool together with PlantScout.”

The tool can be found in the inspiration center of The Orchid Growers, where the relevant test varieties are also presented. Visitors are guided to the survey via a QR code, where they can easily rate these plants via a star ranking.
