PlantScout is used for pilot 100 percent green growing
During the recent Versnellers Sierteelt (Floriculture Accelerators) Pilot Day, 27 progressive pilot growers from six different crop groups came together to share knowledge and insights about the transition to a resilient cultivation system. One of the main pillars highlighted during the meeting? Digitizing and creating more systematic monitoring in the greenhouse. Our application PlantScout played a prominent role in this.
Targeted scouting demonstrated in practice
During one of the central sessions, Ischka Stokman (Technical Specialist in Crop Protection and Biology) and Martijn Middelburg from Leen Middelburg Chrysanten had an extensive discussion about the power of targeted scouting. Using current practical examples and a live demonstration of PlantScout, they showed how digital observations lay the foundation for well-considered cultivation decisions.
Scouting as an indispensable foundation for '100% Green'
Within the innovation project 100% Groen Geteeld (100% Grown Green) – an initiative by the Versnellers Sierteelt Foundation, supported by the EU and the province of South Holland – the pressure to detect diseases and pests in a timely manner is greater than ever. The breakout sessions on the pilot day clearly showed that preventive action only works if it is backed by a fixed methodology and strict record-keeping.
